Merry Christmas! We went to Deep Creek on the 23rd to the 25th with a friend's family. Did some tubing since we missed the skiing session, and then went hiking. I actually saw an animal on my way down! Watched some TV, read a little, ate some food, etc. When we got back like 2 pm on Christmas Day, the family we traveled with (the live in MoCo) was like "Come eat dumplings with us!"
(yes its a stock photo. the only picture of dumplings i could find that resembles what my parents dumplings look like @_@).
But yeah, we didn't eat dumplings. My mom was like "we should really get back home and unpack, so we'll be free tomorrow." She makes up a lot of interesting excuses. There's this old friend of hers who's in NY (she normally lives in TX) and she wanted us to go see her during the break, but my mom was like "well...we're going to deep creek....and after that i'll want to get some work done, you know?....and that weekend is probably when people will be holding parties so we can't go then....so maybe around the 30th?" @_@.
anyways, we got home, unpacked, and ended up going to another friend's house (in HoCo ge cpaiuujlu yuc ge gaymep xy yamwg yc njleu cub) for dinner. I can't wait to see how our MoCo friends will react when they find out we ate at the other guy's house.
We ate cabbage soup + rice + those dried fish you find at Lotte/Han Ah Reum. Yep, cuz it's CABBAGE SEASON!

Napa, bok choy, 白菜, w/e you want to call it. time to get out the kimchi bottles, open some storage space for those huge boxes of napa, share a napa or two with friends (yeah we bring napa with us when we go to ppl's houses), and of course: Chicken + Napa soup.
Napa is standard in North Chinese cuisine. its srsly like the only thing that survives in the winter.

Here's the great Sexy Beijing episode about it:
Yep. Today my mom went to Rockville...cuz she's been seeing the 中医 (eastern medicine practitioner person?) who gave her this bag of herbs thats supposed to help the liver/kidney, but instead it gave her headaches. So instead she found a different guy who said she was "special" so he gave her a different decoction. Anyways, they got home and we had: Chicken + Cabbage Soup. I had asked my dad for udon + shrimp tempura....but at least i found a pack of udon in the fridge. so i guess maybe tomorrow.
So I'm gonna try and finish MIT, JHU, WashU, and Cornell this week. We're going to that friend's house (the HoCo one) for some party with these other 2 families from MoCo on the 29th. and then we're probably going to NY...to visit that lonely woman who just wants a friend ;P.
